Never been a big fan of fish or seafood until lately. I bought this tuna because it is a very pretty piece of fish and didn't really know what to do with it. I thought it would be an appetizer for 3 people but it turned out everybody got a pretty nice portion.
I simply coated it with the herbs and put it on the grill. It is dead simple to cook because you will see the color change towards the part that contacts the cooking surface. I am not a big fan of raw fish but I kept an open mind and only seared the sides leaving the middle bright red.
It turned out fantastic. I thought it was merely going to be something to add some color to the dinner and it turned out being the star for everybody who ate it. I was very pleasantly surprised that something I bought merely on a whim turned out so well.
Visually appealing with a succulent texture, easy to make and relatively inexpensive for what you get. I will also add here that the Hokkaido scallops are very good as well. It was the first time I tried them and see why they are so popular. They are in the picture as well as a piece of A4 Kobe striploin. Pictures don't do it justice but I was too busy cooking and eating to care. :)
Just coat it with this and you are good to go.
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
