Grape variety: Syrah 95%, Viognier 5%

Tasting notes:
This wine is a unique blend in Thailand between our estate grown Syrah and small percentage of Viognier. Syrah for this blend was picked from sixteen year-old blocks on a slope with darker soil and good drainage. The grapes were hand harvested in the cool mornings of February at 23-24 °Brix and sorted. Fully-ripened Viognier was co-fermented with the Syrah.

This wine is full bodies with a youthful nose of blackcurrant, rose petals, earth and distinctive black pepper. The palate shows arrays of dark cherries and lifted floral notes, vanilla and freshly crackes pepper with great acid backbone. Aged in second year French Oak Puncheons for fourteen months, the wine is ypung, ripe and fruit-forward with soft tannins. Balanced in body with juicy finish of vanilla and chocolate. It is pleasureable drinking on its own or with food.

This Syrah Viognier is crafted to be enjoyed with a few years of cellaring and will improve with age. Drink now-2026.

I am not even close a wine connoisseur, but I am usually semi picky about what box my wine comes in. On a whim I decided to try this Syrah Viognier. Very good IMHO. Not too dry and flavorful, that basically exhausts my knowledge of rating wines.

Oh, and went very well with my Passion steak. I expect I will get a few bottles more.

I am always skeptical of Thai wines and hadn't tried any in a few years. This wine is proof that the wine industry in Thailand is becoming much more mature and refined. It was better than many of the Italian and French wines I have had lately.

I highly recommend it and certainly will be ordering it again myself. If you haven't tried any wine made in Thailand lately give this one a shot.
